A Hands-On Learning Experience

A perfect follow on to our 8 week Beginners Course or half day Photography Essentials Workshop. Also great as a stand-alone practical experience. This is a beginner to intermediate level technical, practical and creative photography workshop.

Street photography encompasses many exciting genres of photography. Choosing that crucial moment when to press your camera’s shutter button at the instant glance of a passing pedestrian, when the direction of light falls just right on an historic building, or when your curious wandering eye notices an unusual colourful character.

In this Street Photography Workshop your professional experienced tutor, and Kings Cross local of many years, will guide you through the best equipment for street photography and the optimum settings; teach you how to ‘see’ a strong image; create strong composition; and explain when to press your shutter button in that ‘decisive moment’. Importantly, you will also be informed about your legal rights and ethics whilst shooting on the streets.  Who better to guide you through this experience than a local resident who intimately knows and understands the location!

*A final weather check will be conducted with the Bureau of Meteorology on the morning of each workshop. This may lead to the workshop being postponed in cases of unfavourable weather reports. The workshop may run in cases of light showers but not in persistent storms or heavy rain.

  1. I have participated in other photography courses and workshops over the years but this was the single best yet. A lot of instructors talk about weaning amateur photogs off manual, but Glen brings it to life in a practical way.

  2. Fantastic workshop.
I found the legal side of things regarding Street Photography most helpful and now will be more confident in my rights.
Glenn has inspired me to try and see light and subjects in a different way. And to then capture it correctly.
Based on this experience will do another course through SPW.

  3. I did the street photography workshop recently and learnt a good amount even with a decent amount of street photography experience, the teacher, glen was good and straight to the point which was great. Overall great course and perfect for people getting into street photography.

  4. I had a great photography lesson with Glen, where I gained both legal, creative and practical knowlede for street photography. Glen’s wealth of experience was generously shared, providing valuable insights and techniques. I am inspired and eager to explore street photography.

  5. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and I learned a lot – it was fun and I can highly recommended. it. As always, Sydney Photographic Workshop lived up to my expectation
