Bring a Workshop to your Town
A recent Workshop in Forbes was organised by Beth from She Roams and her MTA Travel group, and it was a real pleasure working with such an enthusiastic group of participants.
Designed to be relaxed, practical, and accessible to anyone — no special equipment required.
If you’re part of a travel group, community organisation, or simply have a group of people who would enjoy learning how to take better photos, we regularly run private workshops across NSW and beyond. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to explore bringing a session like this to your area.

Practical Hands-On Experience
Our smartphone photography workshop includes practical hands-on exercises and shooting assignments.
The smartphone photography course can be run indoors or outdoors. We will create an individually tailored training experience. This can incorporate a visually stimulating presentation, a photography challenge for your team or an exciting, fully tailored ‘on-location’ photo expedition for your friends.
We can meet at your premises as we run through the principles of controlling and understanding light. Or you may choose to travel around Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, for example, and its surrounding precinct as you learn all about shooting with your smartphone; the surfers, the lifesavers, the sunbathers and graffiti, amongst a whole tonne of other subjects. Whatever you choose, we will teach you all we know about great composition and what you can achieve when you have specific requirements for images for your work, business, or pleasure.
Apply the techniques and concepts you’ve learned in real-world scenarios and receive valuable feedback from your instructor. This interactive learning approach will help reinforce your knowledge and improve your skills.
With your camera, you’ll explore the beauty of the landscape, understand how to set up for street photography and take candid portraits, play with colour and black and white, and learn how to capture the nuances of architecture and master lifestyle images.
NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF PHOTOGRAPHY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS WORKSHOP.
SUITABLE FOR ALL SMARTPHONES.
*A final weather check will be conducted with the Bureau of Meteorology on the morning of each workshop, should it be outdoors. This may lead to the workshop being postponed in cases of unfavourable weather reports. Outdoor workshops may run in cases of light showers but not in persistent showers or heavy rain. Should we postpone your training experience, you will be notified on the morning of your workshop if this needs to be done.
*Indoor training will not be affected by the weather.

Daniel took the time to travel to country NSW & provided our group with a most informative photographic workshop. Not only did he provide valuable tips & tricks in the use of our iPhones for our travel group, but more importantly had us thinking BEFORE we start shooting: what is it is you want to achieve; what is the light like; how can you get the best shot – instead of just pointing & clicking. The workshop was interactive with a number of challenges & Daniel readily answered any questions we had. He took a number of photos in & around our town which showed us the power of photography & that, with a bit of practice & thought, we could vastly improve our photographic skills. Daniel’s presentation style was relaxed & extremely interactive. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to any person or group wishing to learn more about the art & power of photography – Andrea, MTA Travel, Charlestown
What a Great Masterclass in Photography – Daniel was excellent – he took his time to explain things very thoroughly and by the end of the session we all had lovely photos and a really good idea of how our phones work, and how to get the most out of them during our travels. Well done Daniel – Beth, MTA Travel, Forbes
Thank you again for coming to the Museum tonight and hosting these two amazing workshops and thank you for taking the time to so carefully preparing it for our audience. It was so inspiring and seeing visitors walking through the Museum taking photos after the workshop just demonstrated this – Anne Berger, Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences (Powerhouse Museum)
Thanks for your great work on the Powerhouse Late : Photography event (in the lead up and on the night). You were a dream to work with and I hope you were happy with the result. Sarah – Powerhouse Museum
