Martin Gardiner –
I undertook the Night Photography workshop in November on what threatened to be another wet Sydney night. Sydney Photographic workshops kept me well informed on whether the session was going ahead or not. The tutor on the night, Glen, was very knowledgeable and approachable and only too willing to help with answering any questions. He freely gave of his time and even went over the allotted 4 hours to ensure we got to practice what he was teaching us. A great night and I would thoroughly recommend this workshop.

He led the group through so much in a 3 hour period. It was excellent value. I have signed up already for another longer course in January. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to learn about nighttime photography and how to get into using your camera on manual. Cheers Gerry

A very awesome experience with Ben and the other work-shoppers. Was also great as it was during VIVID in Sydney and the Crowds were minimal, but mostly due to how much i learnt to capture in understanding photography, and more about what i can achieve. Thanks again.

A very enjoyable evening in which I learned a huge amount about how I can better use my camera off the “security” setting of automatic. Glenn was incredibly patient, making sure that even the slow learners (i.e. me) were able to keep up. He explained the technical stuff in a very user-friendly way. I’m already applying the things he taught and seeing the benefits. Thank you.
Calum –
I had a very informative experience at the night photography class. My teacher definitely knew what he was talking about and I learnt a lot about photography that I didn’t prior to the class. The photos I captured were also very amazing and looking back on them, I can see what I’ve learnt and what I need to improve on. Overall, I had a very great experience and I really want to apply for another one as soon as possible!

Thanks Ben, had a great time learning how to work my new Nikon camera and also learning new techniques on Friday evening, came home and put some to use last night, well worth it.

This course is highly recommended. Our teacher, Ben, provided an excellent exposition of the way shutter, aperture and ISO can be manipulated to generate different effects in night photography, and a series of exercises in varying locations in the Opera House Circular Quay precinct. He was a skilled teacher – able to work effectively with both whole group and individuals of divergent skill levels. This ‘enthusiast’ learned a lot, and was delighted with the whole experience.
Ann –
Glen was an excellent teacher, fully engaged with us for the whole course. He explains things clearly, has lots of great tips, understands every type of SLR it seems and is well organised. Top marks!

Nancy –
My friend and I did the night course with Glenn last week and it was FANTASTIC. Luckily, we were in a tiny group of three which gave us lots of one-on-one time and meant that things only needed to be explained once. We got some amazing shots of the bridge, city, and Opera House, as well as gained a greater understanding of long exposure, finding the right balance and settings for low light, and had some great fun with torches. We walked away so inspired and have not stopped sharing our photos with people. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
Larry Ryan –
The course was very informative with Ben providing personal service to each of us on the night and catering to all skill levels. I found the pace of the course excellent with sufficient time to explore the new skills being taught and feature of the camera previously not well understood. Overall highly recommended and a 5 star course.

Awesome experience at Vivid 2016 opening night. Learnt a lot about night action photography, tips and tricks, and functions of my camera I wasnt familiar with. Ben was a great guide – informative, thorough and challenging. Highly recommended for beginner/novice like myself and Vivid is a great medium to cspture.
Isaac –
There’s nothing quite like a sultry, kinetic portrait of the iridescent Sydney nightscape. Starting with the groundwork, experienced photography master Glenn Lockitch ran through some of the basic principles of photography before sharing effective techniques for getting quality long-exposure shots. If you’re after a 3-hour workshop packed with more features than the latest Nikon user’s manual, you’ve found the place!
Sofija –
Great night! Thanks for all the information Ben. It was a great balance of technical & creative information. Thanks for answering all the questions!

A tremendous experience. Learnt so much and am already looking at other people’s pictures in a different, more attuned way!

Just to let you know we had a very informative workshop on Friday night, we were so lucky with the weather, Ben was fantastic and we all learnt heaps. His teaching style was fantastic and everything made sense. Would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone.
Natalie Verdon –
I tried some time back to do a course and came away more lost with my camera and feeling I would never ‘get those numbers right’ – zero confidence. I learnt more from Glenn in 3 hours and now so keen to learn more. He was a patient and thoughtful tutor, who really knew how to get information across in a straight forward intelligent way.
