I just wanted to write to thank you for the Travel Photography workshop. The tutors Ben and Daniel were great, very approachable and full of high quality advice and tips. The content was super interesting and it was fantastic to visit four locations in the one day, each teaching us different aspects of travel photography. It was really good value, I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone and I will definitely be back for other SPW courses myself.

This is a day that is packed with photographing at interesting sites. As we moved from one site to the next we had the opportunity to learn the different techniques required for the various conditions and environments. Plenty of practice time was included and having two professional photographers to assist ensured we all had the opportunity to get the best from our equipment.
While Ben and Daniel led the way, it was Wendy who, “keeps the motor running”, making sure we were all well-fed, looking after our gear, and magically appearing with the van whenever we needed to move from one location to another.
You won’t find a better organisation for whichever course you choose to do and you will leave feeling inspired.

Ben, Daniel and Wendy put on a great day. The teaching is down to earth and easy to follow. Everyone was given attention and made to feel in control. We visited 4 interesting locations and finished up at Yarra Bay near La Perouse for some interesting sunset and night shot and a well deserved glass of bubbles. Ben and Daniel certainly gave us a new appreciation of how hard good photographers work.

Awesome day. I felt like the pace was fast enough to keep me interested and slow enough to keep me informed. Both Ben and Daniel are top notch pros full of wisdom, insight and a palatable arsenal of tips and tricks to help any photographer, at any stage of their learning. I had a blast and can definitely recommend!

I’d like to thank you, Ben, and Daniel for the workshop that was held on Saturday last week. I think it was very well paced and I am so happy that we visited three places on one day: the shipyard, Maroubra, and Yarra Bay. I find Ben’s way of teaching very engaging and at the same time not intimidating at all.

What a wonderful day of learning about photography. Ben was so articulate when explaining concepts and contexts and scenes and stops! The locations we were taken to were superb, away from the usual tourist spots in Sydney. I learnt so much more about my town and its hidden pearls.
Dan was a brilliant backup for Ben, when I needed extra assistance. Wendy a superb and lovely hostess and the catering was very nice. I’d love to participate in another workshop with this company.
Thank you for a very informative and enjoyable day.

From start to finish I had an amazing time doing the travel photography course. The tutors gave a fantastic effort in helping us and explaining everything they were teaching us so that all of us could understand. Nothing was too much trouble for the guys, no questions went unanswered or made you feel uncomfortable asking. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking too improve their photography, and a massive thanks again to all of the Sydney Photographic Workshops team for an amazing day.

The day spent with Ben & Dan was fabulous. It was a lovely group of people with diverse interests and skill levels which the instructors handled exceptionally. The love of the art of photography and sharing of technical know-how was brilliant from the beginning to the end of the day. It was a long day but worth every minute and every dollar. I can’t wait to keep learning and put my new skills to use. I would highly recommend the SPW team as this was my 2nd course and I have learnt so much. Thanks a million!

I just attended the Travel Photography workshop. Greatly enjoyed the 3 “secret” locations and we were all taught that no matter where you are, there will always be opportunities for great photo.
The day was a great balance between practical activities, intersped with some theory, but athe theory is always taught by doing which alsways keeps things fun.
I thoroughly recommend Sydney Photographic Workshops for novices and not so novice photographers alike.

I went on the Travel Photography Workshop, both Ben and Daniel were clear in their explanations and proactive at giving tips where they saw fit. They quickly picked up on differing capability levels and split the group to give more personalised tuition when necessary. Every location was full of interesting people and perspectives, even shooting at my local beach!
I definitely learnt a lot even as a semi professional and had lots of fun.
Wendy looked after us all superbly, making sure we were all well fed and watered, and being more than accomodating to my very specific dietary requirements.
Huge thank you all, definite recommendations and will surely return
Jen
PS why didn’t I know about you sooner?

What a great day. I learned quite a few things before lunch time so I knew I’d picked the right course. Both photographers where extremely knowledgeable and helpful and certainly know their stuff. The whole day was all very well organised. I now need to get out and practice the tools I learned. This is my second course with SPW, looking forward to the next one!

My second SPW workshop did not disappoint. The team has put a lot of thought into the variety of locations and activities, and provides as much advice as you can handle. Full marks!
Adrian Tischler –
Great teachers who really took the time to work with everyone according to their skills and their individual learning wishes – it’s so rare to get this much access to loads of unpretentious, quality advice. The locations were inspiring, the instruction and exercises were very useful and the other students a lot of fun to be around. In the words of Arnie … “I’ll be back” 🙂
Lisa Elliott –
I love it when you have an “ah ha” moment, and during the course of the day I had a few where the pennies just dropped – thanks to some great tutelage from a couple of clearly talented photographers. I’ve participated in a few of these workshops now and they’re never disappointing, I look forward to the next one.

I found both instructors to be full of useful information and when giving their opinions on certain things they also gave their reasons for their advice, In my experience if people then back up their advice with reasons, it shows that their knowledge base if very solid. This course only makes me crave for more information on photography.
