This beautiful annual event offers a unique opportunity to capture the colours of the city light projections with the guidance of a professional photographer. The Festival features breathtaking immersive light projections on the iconic Sydney Opera House sails and Harbour Bridge along with an outdoor exhibition of interactive light sculptures.
As the lights come on, you will learn creative techniques and tricks to help you create postcard quality images in this fun, eye opening experience.
This workshop is designed for those photographers who want to explore the beautiful lights using creative techniques involved in shooting after dark whilst utilising the creative light installations.
For beginners looking for a fun and exciting introduction to digital photography or enthusiasts looking to brush up on their technique. All you need is a Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera with full manual controls, a sturdy tripod and lots of memory space.
NOT SUITABLE FOR COMPACT CAMERAS WITHOUT FULL MANUAL CAPABILITY.
A TRIPOD IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS WORKSHOP – Please note – we do NOT loan tripods.
* A final weather check will be conducted with the Bureau of Meteorology on the afternoon of each workshop. This may lead to the workshop being postponed in cases of unfavourable weather reports. The workshop may run in cases of light showers but not in persistent showers or heavy rain.

The workshop was brilliant! Ben was a very patient and informative teacher and Vivid a great backdrop! Awesome experience at Vivid 2016 opening night. Learnt a lot about night action photography, tips and tricks, and functions of my camera I wasnt familiar with. Ben was a great guide – informative, thorough and challenging. Highly recommended for beginner/novice like myself and Vivid is a great medium to capture.
