Having attended several of the SPW workshops and waiting extra time because of Covid, this experience lived up to all expectations. The day was full of teaching and practice, kind of tiring, but worth every penny.

Many thanks for a terrific day. For me the whole day was an experience. Daniel, Wendy and Ben were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The models – Allan and Tennille really professional and so easy to work with. The whole day was extremely well organised and packed with positive tuition. Exceptional photography course, thoughtfully planned and conducted, with a wonderful team of people behind the scenes. I learn’t so much, boosting my confidence immensely. Opening my eyes to so many more light possibilities and opportunities, when it comes to portraits. There is lots of click time, and I walked away with some amazing portrait photos. Daniel is an incredibly talented and creative photographer, who is also very generous with his knowledge. If you want to take your portrait photography to the next level, I would thoroughly recommend this course.

Did my 5th photographic workshop with Daniel Linnet at the week end. As always, he is a fantastic photographer and teacher, always eager to share his knowledge. Both he and Wendy are so welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. Will certainly be attending more workshops, which are great value for money.
Dennis Wells –
This was my first photography course with Sydney Photography Workshop (SPW). Daniel, Wendy, their assistants, and the models were all professional, friendly, and patient.
The portraiture course is very well structured, starting with a quick presentation of images that were inspiring, photographing two models separately at interesting inside and outside environments, and learning how to manipulate available light and a variety of artificial light sources. Surprisingly simple techniques to make what initially appears to be mundane look extraordinary were also covered.
It’s a big day that will give you the confidence and skills to take fantastic portraiture images!

Daniel and Wendy are hands down the best photography teacher and host I’ve ever learnt from. Look no further for your training needs – this is as good as it gets. Well done team on an awesome session this past Saturday 27 Feb 2021.

Thank you Daniel and Wendy for putting on a great workshop. I had lots of fun and learnt many things. Thanks also to Chris who provided the “muscle” as Daniel’s assistant throughout the day. Thanks too to “frizzy hair” Chris who was an excellent character model and was a great subject for a portrait. Thanks also go out to the lovely Matilda who’s effortless posing made taking great photos of her an easier task.
I have dabbled in photography since the days of film and the early days of digital and am mainly self-taught through lots of reading and more recently watching YouTube videos. My photos have been regularly complimented by friends and family, yet I felt that the photos were missing something. I really liked Daniel’s work and decided to enroll in Sydney Photographic Workshop’s Portrait Photography class. I’m so glad I did! Daniel covered so much more in a one day workshop than you could ever get out of a book. Daniel is very articulate and explains concepts well. He has the ability to take great photographs and show his students how to do it too. Daniel’s use and manipulation of light, both natural and speedlight/flash was an eye opener for me. With the right lighting our photos looked amazing. It’s all about the light!
I can highly recommend the Portrait Photography Workshop to anyone thinking of taking their photography to the next level. Thank you Daniel for imparting your knowledge so willingly. Time to put what I’ve learnt into practice!
Wayne Jeff –

Had an extremely fun day with Wendy, Daniel and Chris at the SPW Portrait Workshop held recently in Sydney. Master Photographer Daniel Linnet was more than generous in creating a positive and enjoyable learning experience with the help of assistant Chris and two gracious models, Chris and Skye, who were both extremely engaging with each participant in the workshop. Many thanks go to Wendy for the warm welcome and keeping the day moving along nicely to allow all participants to capture truly awesome images. To Wendy and Daniel, your love and passion for photography is infectious and made for a day very well spent!

Wendy, thank you, Daniel, and Chris for the workshop! Jonas and especially “Matilda” were great! I really enjoyed the day.
Everything was very well organized and well paced 🙂 I think it’s an eye-opener )
Key points:
– I’d never get back to Av mode I think after Daniel’s lessons
– I got more confident taking photos of my family
– Thanks Daniel for letting me use his 100mm Macro lens. It was such an inspiring lens.
– Some magical stuff about flashlights layering
– Reflectors, reflectors, reflectors!!! I’ll get one.
If I was 20 years younger I’d probably decide to become a photographer after this 🙂

I always knew I was missing something and I had a few “aha” moments in this workshop. Some of the technicalities I never knew dawned upon me and I found those missing bits. Daniel is amazing at explaining. He believes in genuinely spreading his knowledge and that is a commendable quality of a great tutor. Wendy was an amazing help. Chris – thanks to you for all your humor and help and you have a great eye for technicalities too. Yonas and Matilda were so friendly. I had an awesome experience and will return for more. Everyone in the team is highly skilled. Best workshop I’ve ever attended.
